ELKON and STRABAG Strengthen Ties with Chile Wind Project

Chile is reinforcing its role as a renewable energy leader in Latin America with the Pampa Fidelia Wind Farm in Antofagasta. Set to be commissioned in 2027, the $2.5 billion project will generate 306 MW of clean power, enough for 300,000 homes, while preventing over 91,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.

Behind this landmark project stands a trusted partnership. ELKON and STRABAG have been collaborating since 2013 on numerous projects across Europe, Africa, and Latin America. In Chile alone, this marks the installation of STRABAG’s fifth ELKON concrete plant. This new delivery highlights STRABAG’s continued confidence in ELKON’s solutions, built on years of collaboration across multiple countries and challenging job sites.

To meet the project’s concrete requirements, STRABAG selected ELKON’s next-generation ELKOMIX-135 Quick Master Compact Concrete Plant, offering a production capacity of 120 m³/h. This unit is equipped with a 4500/3000 l ELKON twin-shaft mixer, capable of producing 3 m³ of high-quality concrete per batch.

In addition, STRABAG has mobilized its existing ELKOMIX-60 Quick Master plant, further boosting production capacity. Both plants can be operated from a single control cabin, ensuring efficient and streamlined operations.

With galvanized aggregate bins (4×25 m³) designed for durability and a shorter loading ramp that simplifies material feeding, the ELKOMIX-135 Quick Master reflects ELKON’s focus on compact, modular design without compromising on performance.

Since 1975, ELKON has supplied over 5,000 concrete plants to 137 countries, becoming a trusted partner in major construction and infrastructure projects worldwide. Marking its 50th anniversary, the company continues to showcase its engineering expertise and innovation, with the Pampa Fidelia Wind Farm standing as the latest example of its contribution to the global renewable energy transition.
