ELKON Delivers Climate-Friendly Concrete Batching Plant in Germany

In line with this vision, a German company committed to climate-neutral production has partnered with ELKON to install a next-generation concrete batching plant designed with energy efficiency, precision, and sustainability at its core.
This project was the result of more than two years of collaboration between ELKON’s engineering team and the client’s project specialists. Through extensive technical discussions and joint planning, a plant was developed that not only met but exceeded expectations, combining cutting-edge automation, innovative design, and climate-conscious technology.
The batching plant is equipped with several outstanding features that make it one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in Europe:
- Large Aggregate Storage: 16 aggregate bins with a total capacity of 960 m³, fed by a high-efficiency pre-feeding and distribution system.
- High-Precision Dosing: Ultra-accurate aggregate dosing gates with 0.5% weighing precision, ensuring consistent concrete quality even with small batches.
- Moisture Control Sensors: Microwave-type sensors integrated into bins and mixers for automatic water adjustment, guaranteeing mix consistency.
- Planetary Mixers: Equipped with 1500/1000 L and 375/250 L ELKON Planetary Mixers with frequency inverters for optimized mixing speed and energy savings.
- Energy Regeneration System: Skip buckets regenerate energy during operation, storing it in supercapacitors for reuse in subsequent batches – a major step toward sustainable concrete production.
- High-Efficiency Motors: All plant motors meet the highest energy efficiency class and are supported by frequency inverters to minimize power use.
- Insulated Enclosures: Designed to reduce environmental impact, maintain stable operating temperatures, and optimize production in various climates.
- Advanced Automation: ELKON’s in-house control system streamlines workflow, reduces downtime, and automatically produces concrete on demand with no manual intervention.
