ELKON has successfully commissioned a new ELKOMIX-60 QUICK MASTER concrete batching plant in Austria. The plant will be used for the production of ready-mix concrete, primarily serving residential construction projects.
The batching plant was configured in line with the customer’s specific requirements and includes a square-type 4-compartment aggregate bin, fed by a ramp and wheel loader. Aggregates are transferred to the mixer through a skip hoist system, ensuring efficient material handling.
The installation also includes two 50-ton cement silos for cement storage. To support accurate concrete production, a moisture probe was installed in the sand compartment to continuously monitor aggregate moisture levels and automatically adjust water dosing when required.
As the customer intends to operate the plant during winter conditions, the batching plant was equipped with winterization components including aggregate heating pipelines, steam nozzles, and automatic insulation covers for the aggregate bin. In addition, the customer has already received the engineering plans for a future winter enclosure around the plant.
